At Yarm Preparatory School we are very proud of our excellent extra-curricular programme which enables pupils to develop the key skills they need in order to thrive in all aspects of their lives.
Children further their passions and become masters of their chosen pursuits, and have the opportunity to try new and different activities to broaden their horizons and build confidence.
Take a look at our Clubs and Activities Programme for Summer 2023 to find out more.
Pre-Prep children (Reception – Year 2) have a range of clubs they can join, taking place before, during, and after the school day. Some of these clubs allow the children to simply turn up and join in, while others need to be booked by parents.
For example, during a typical term we may have Running Club and Book Club before school, Singing at break time, Chess, Recorders and Dance at lunchtime, and activities ranging from Fencing to Lego to Drama after School.
Children at Prep School (Year 3 to Year 6) have enrichment lessons within their timetable; these include a carousel of activities that they participate in during lesson 6 on Mondays.
On Wednesday afternoons they can choose from a wide range of activities including things like Horse Riding, Golf, Ornithology, Debating and lots more.
Prep School pupils also have a variety of clubs they can join before, during, and after school. During a typical term we may have Maths, Reading, Tennis and Cricket before school, Art Attack, Choir, Chess and Origami at lunchtime, and a huge range from Squash to Warhammer to Science Club and Microbits after School.
