We are delighted to have been shortlisted for the , in the categories for Independent Prep School of the Year and Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievements .
The Prep School was shortlisted in an application which detailed our innovative, values-driven community that helps every child flourish, and our community engagement work which has seen our Prep School pupils deliver VR sessions to local primary schools along with many other links and workshops.
According to The Independent School of the Year Awards, this year the focus has been on “… the significant impact that schools make on their wider communities through the diverse and innovative educational partnerships they build, both locally and nationally.â€
Yarm was shortlisted for the second consecutive year in the Independent School of the Year for Sporting Achievements category. Yarm has been shortlisted with many of the country’s top sporting independent schools.
A few highlights of the 2022/23 season included: the U16 boys’ hockey team retaining the Tier 3 National Schools Champion title; the U14 boys’ hockey finishing fourth in the country in their Tier 1 National Hockey Finals; the U14 netball team celebrating coming fourth in the England Netball National Finals, and the U16 netball team finishing in joint 13th position.
For the first time, Yarm attended the English School Swimming Association National Finals with three qualifying teams. The senior boys’ team qualified for the final race which placed them in the top 10 nationally.
Finalists will be announced at the start of September and the winners will be revealed at an awards ceremony in October.
